Kartik Utsav 2023

Kartikotsav 2023 was celebrated in Grand Style.
This year also more than 20,000 people attended the Kartik Mahotsav.
The fest, as always, began with a pooja, which took place early Saturday morning.
After the pooja, the bhatts started cooking the mahaprasad for all the devotees.
This process usually takes more than 12 hours as the number of devotees is also large.
The pallaki seve took place in the morning. Devotees were happy to participate in the event.
This was followed by the Panchamrut Abhishek.
Then the Mahapooja took place.

On the other side, the Haridas Sahitya Samiti conducted Cultural programmes.
There were nice pravachans given by the pandits. The stories told during the pravachan inspired people to do good deeds.

Devotees gathered in the Ugrahan ( Place where Mahaprasad is served) by 4 PM.
The naivedya was offered to the god at around 6 PM
In the first batch, about 8000 people were served the mahaprasad.
The temple was lit up with deepas which symboilsed the celebration of the Utsav
Muddu Mohan and Sangeeta Katti took the Haridas Sahitya Samiti stage (also known as "Padigar mantap")
and pleased the devotees by singing devotional songs in their melodious voice.

As the sun rose, the crowd increased. The Panchamrut Mahabhishek was performed on Shri Yalguresh.
This was followed by Mahapooja.

The Mahaprasad was served to the devotees at around 6.30 PM.

At around about 7pm, the first cracker burst and that marked the beginning of Okalli. Then another and then another.
The crackers went on. Flower pots, rockets, cracker garlands lit up the temple.
The crackers went on for almost about half an hour.
Then the pujari did the pooja at the place where okalli takes place.
The devotees took rounds around the holy place.
Then they took small pots, filled them water from the holy place and headed towards Yalguresh.
The devotees went round Yalguresh and sprinkled water and then came back to the holy place.
Then the pallaki was lifted and the devotees ran with all their energy carrying the pallaki on their shoulders around the holy place.
Round one, two, three, four and five and the pallaki went. The devotees jumped and celebrated.
The holy water was splashed on everyone. Yalguresh was there to play the sport.
